The Heure H (French for "H Hour") was created in 1996 by the designer Philippe Mouquet. Mouquet's brilliant idea was to "capture time inside a letter." Instead of simply placing the Hermès logo on the watch's dial, he decided to make the entire watch case in the shape of the brand's initial.
At the time, creating a watch case so overtly shaped like a brand's logo was considered a bold, playful, and slightly unconventional move in traditional watchmaking, perfectly aligning with Hermès' witty and artistic brand identity.
